

In honor of National Hunting and Fishing Day, the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources will host a celebration at the Salato Wildlife Education Center on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025. The Salato Center will offer free admission throughout the day, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (Eastern), as well as a variety of hunting and fishing exhibits, demonstrations and activities for everyone scheduled throughout the day.
💡 What’s happening:
• The first 50 children (ages 5–17) will receive a free fishing pole, courtesy of Sheet Metal Workers #110 🐟
• Try your hand at archery, pellet rifles, kids’ casting games, and more!
• Enjoy kids’ activity sheets, temporary tattoos, and other fun 🎨
• Watch a hunting dog demonstration and learn about falconry
• Hear from Kentucky Fish & Wildlife staff during special talks and programs
Bring your family and friends to explore exhibits, discover new skills, and celebrate Kentucky’s hunting and fishing heritage. There’s something for everyone!
