Conservation groups, local businesses and state agencies, including the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission, are hosting this event for youth ages 5 to 15. Activity stations, demonstrations and information booths will provide opportunities to learn about hunting, fishing, sportsmanship safety and much more.

2009 – Greenwing National Hunting and Fishing Day

A day of fishing at Mackay Island. For $20, each participant will receive a rod and reel combo, tackle, a t-shirt, Fish-For-Fun bags and a Greenwing membership. Lunch and beverages will be provided for participants and their families. In addition to fishing, participants will be able to learn about archery. Cash prizes for “longest fish” and “heaviest fish.”
North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission will be hosting events across the state to raise awareness about hunting, angling and shooting.
